The Hand of God and the Goal of the Century

In this striped blue jersey, Argentina’s Diego Maradona scored two iconic goals in their 2-1 win against bitter rival England in the 1986 World Cup quarterfinal. Most people agree he scored the “Hand of God” goal with an illegal handball at the beginning of the second half. (It took him 19 years to admit it.) Just four minutes later, he raced 60 yards through the English defense and scored what many call the greatest individual goal of all time: “the Goal of the Century”.
